Logging on to the customer computers

  • Aalto University staff members log on to the customer computer using the Aalto username and password.
  • Other customers log on using a shared username and password.

Opening a thesis

  • On the desktop of the customer computers, you will find an icon titled:

    Aalto Thesis Database

  • Click on the icon to search for and open the thesis you are looking for from Aaltodoc database. You can find the thesis file by clicking the link on the OEV or OEVS field.

Reading the thesis

  • You can either print the thesis or read it on the customer computer screen.
  • You cannot save the thesis file on a flash drive or email it.
  • You cannot copy text or images from the file.
  • You cannot edit the file.

Printing the thesis

  • You can print the thesis for your personal study or research use.
  • Aalto University students and staff members may print black-and-white prints on the PrintingPoint devices when using the computer with personal Aalto username and password. Color printing is possible using the printer u90203-psc3, which is located near the customer service. Color printing is subject to a charge to Aalto University students and staff members.
  • Other customers can use the printer u90203-psc3. All printing is subject to a charge to non-University members.

Abstract (eng):The purpose of the research was to study the suitability of the alliance model in the Finnish housing company model.
The theoretical part of the study consisted of structure and decision-making in the Finnish housing company model, technical aspects of pipe renovations and their traditional project delivery methods, and project alliancing theory.
The current state of the project environment was studied through a series of interviews as well as the personal experiences of the author, which were gained through working for a pipe renovation company, which was also the customer for this thesis.
The results showed that the suitability is very case-specific and therefore the suitability should be evaluated before each individual project.
The most suitable aspects were related to the features of the project, thus the pipe renovation project in itself would be well suited for the use of the alliance model.
The nature of the renovation project promotes the use of a project model which emphasizes cooperation and designing and building simultaneously.
The aspects of the alliance model which were deemed least suitable for the project environment were the capabilities of the owner partici-pant, for example resources.
The difficulties with owner's capabilities were taken into account in the proposals of the author, which were divided into three parts: organization, project alliance agreement and production systems.
Organizational proposals are the formation of the project group in the housing company, the struc-ture of the alliance organization, the use of the alliance consultant and certain special tasks of the owner.
The proposals related to the project alliance agreement are its clarity, splitting the agreement into two parts (interim project alliance agreement and project alliance agreement), subjects of key result areas and increasing the gain share - pain share of the designer participants.
Proposals related to the production system are creating the alliance spirit, adopting the soft principles, careful selection and teaming processes, Big Room and common project information database.
Additionally, a smaller project alliance for single housing company shares is proposed.
It would respond to the varying requirements of different shareholders.
Especially when a shareholder wishes for solutions that differ greatly from the housing company's standard level, a smaller scale project alliance would ease the situation.
Abstract (fin):Tutkimuksessa selvitettiin projektiallianssin soveltuvuutta asunto-osakeyhtiöiden linjasaneeraushankkeisiin.
Työn teoriaosuudessa perehdyttiin asunto-osakeyhtiön toimielinten tehtäviin ja päätöksentekoon, linjasaneerausten teknisiin erityispiirteisiin ja perinteisiin toteutusmuotoihin sekä projektiallianssin teoriaan.
Hankeympäristön nykytilannetta selvitettiin haastatteluiden avulla sekä tutkijan omakohtaisen kokemuksen kautta.
Tutkija on työskennellyt linjasaneerauksia urakoivassa yrityksessä, joka on myös tilaajayritys.
Tuloksista ilmeni, että tapauskohtaisuus merkitsee soveltuvuuden arvioinnissa paljon, ja siksi jokaisen hankkeen alussa tulisi arvioida soveltuvuus erikseen.
Hyvin soveltuvat kriteerit liittyvät hankkeen ominaisuuksiin, eli todennäköisesti linjasaneerausympäristö itsessään soveltuisi projektiallianssin käyttöön hyvin.
Korjaushankkeen luonne puoltaa yhteistoimintaa lisäävää toteutusmuotoa ja suunnittelun ja toteutuksen ajallista limittämistä.
Huonoimmin soveltuvat näkökulmat liittyvät tilaajan valmiuksiin, kuten resursointiin.
Tutkimuksessa havaitut ongelmakohdat pyrittiin ottamaan huomioon tutkijan ehdotuksissa, jotka jaoteltiin kolmeen osaan: organisaatio, sopimusmalli ja tuotantosysteemit.
Organisaatioon liittyvät ehdotukset ovat projektiryhmän perustaminen asunto-osakeyhtiössä, allianssiorganisaation rakenne, allianssikonsultin käyttö ja tietyt tilaajan erityistehtävät.
Sopimus-malliin liittyvät ehdotukset ovat selkeys, kaksiosaisuus, avaintulosalueiden aiheet sekä sanktio-/bonusosuuden kasvattaminen suunnittelijoille.
Tuotantosysteemiin liittyvät ehdotukset ovat allianssihengen luominen, pehmeiden tyyppipiirteiden omaksuminen, huolellinen valinta- ja perustamisvaihe sekä työkaluista Big Room ja projektipankki.
Edellisten lisäksi ehdotetaan huoneistokohtaista projektiallianssia, jolla voitaisiin vastata osakkaiden vaihteleviin toiveisiin projektin sisällöstä ja tavoitteista.
Huoneistokohtainen projektiallianssi helpottaisi hanketta varsinkin niiden osakkaiden osalta, jotka haluavat paljon yhtiön perustasosta poikkeavia ratkaisuja.
