Abstract (eng): | A brand communicates the identity of a company, product or service to its providers and customers. The true meaning of brands to business is that they create value - brand equity. Brand identity represents what the organization wants the brand to stand for. Brand image, on the other hand, is the brand's current associations. Outsourcing is a contractual agreement between the customer and one or more suppliers to provide services or processes that the customer is currently providing internally. The outsourcing process can be divided to four steps: internal benchmarking analysis, external benchmarking analysis, contract negotiation and outsourcing management. The external benchmarking analysis, then, includes supplier evaluation and selection. The selection criteria have to be put in place based on the situation and the company in question. Employees, as well as suppliers, constitute the interface between a brand's internal and external environments and can have a powerful impact on consumers' perceptions of the organization. Therefore, when choosing suppliers, it should be taken into account if they support the company's brand identity or not. Entre Marketing Ltd (Entre) is a Finnish company specialized in international marketing, and especially international business-to-business exhibitions. At the moment, Entre's brand identity is quite unclear and inconsistent. In this research, Entre's brand identity is formalized and a tool is developed with the value tree method to choose suppliers to Entre and to evaluate its current suppliers on how well they support Entre's brand identity. |
