Abstract (eng): | Large communications networks maintained by multiple operators face the threat of intentional or unintentional misuse of network resources. As the value of the resources is significant, it is necessary to be able to monitor network activities and events. This thesis studies Full Personal Accountability within the scope of Operations and Maintenance for Telecommunications Networks, defining a number of requirements that fulfil the objective of being able to trace all the actions initiated by an operator and all events that the action resulted in. The Full Personal Accountability requirements can be used as input for further specification of node security design requirements as well as operation guidelines. The Mobile Media Gateway, Mobile Switching Center Server, and Operations and Support System for Radio and Core have been checked for compliancy with these requirements, and the results will be used as input in product design. Full Personal Accountability still requires studying in order to verify the status of ether network elements, and optimization of the requirements to correspond with real- world applications. |
