Abstract (eng): | A common approach in statistical physics is to define a model in a finite part of a lattice and then to take the lattice size to zero. This limit is called the scaling limit of the model. When the space is two-dimensional, it is often proposed that the scaling limit of the model is conformal invariant in so-called critical phenomenon. In this work the model at hand is uniform spanning tree (UST). It is shown that a random curve (an interface) associated to UST is conform ally invariant. The proof is based on the theory of stochastic Löwner evolutions (SLE). The original proof was done by Lawler, Schramm and Werner. And the current proof uses partially unpublished ideas of Smirnov. The work includes a method to prove compactness of a family of probability measures describing random curves, general introduction to SLE and a method to identify the scaling limit. The last is based on finding a conformal invariant observable that has an explicit expression. This work was done at the Department of mathematics at the University of Helsinki. |
Abstract (fin): | Statistisessa fysiikassa on usein lähtökohtana rajoitetussa avaruuden osassa määritelty hilamalli. Mallin skaalausrajalla tarkoitetaan hilavälin pienentämistä nollaan. Ns. kriittisissä ilmiössä kaksiulotteisien mallien on ehdotettu säilyttävän ominaisuutensa konformikuvauksissa. Viimeksi mainitussa käytetään konformi-invarianttia, havainnoitavaa suuretta, jolle tunnetaan eksplisiittinen lauseke. Työ on tehty Helsingin yliopiston Matematiikan laitoksella. |
