| Abstract (eng): | Logica is Finland's leading Dynamics CRM customer relationship software supplier, who utilizes its quality certified, waterfall-based project model to manage CRM implementation projects. Due to changing requirements in the marketplace, Logica launched a venture during 2008 to develop a new project model, which utilizes agile practices, for CRM projects. The new project model was developed by analyzing old projects and identifying common problems. Good agile practices were identified from literature and chosen practices were tested in four projects. Experiences from these projects were collected from both the customers and the project personnel in written and orally in group and bilateral discussions. The new phased agile project model, in which the software parameterization is done together with the customer in workshops, was developed as an outcome of this thesis. The project model reduces excess work by phasing the projects in smaller logical steps, productionizing the software early in the project and by involving the customer in the software development. Also, based on the experiences from the projects, improvements to the new project model were identified. The results of this thesis support the suitability of agile practices to projects with parameterizable of-the-shelf software. Experiences from the projects were very good and encourage to further development of the project model and to conduct more research. |
| Abstract (fin): | Logica on Suomen johtava Dynamics CRM asiakkuudenhallintajärjestelmän toimittaja, joka hyödyntää CRM projektien läpivientiin laatusertifioitua, vesiputousmalliin perustuvaa projektimalliaan. Markkinoiden muuttuvien vaatimusten seurauksena vuonna 2008 Logicalla käynnistettiin hanke kehittää uusi, ketteriä käytäntöjä hyödyntävä projektimalli CRM projektien läpivientiin. Uutta projektimallia kehitettiin analysoimalla vanhalla projektimallilla tehtyjä projekteja ja tunnistamalla niistä ongelmakohdat. Hyviä ketteriä käytäntöjä tunnistettiin kirjallisuudesta ja valitut käytännöt testattiin neljässä projektissa. Tehtyjen projektien kokemuksia kerättiin asiakkailta ja projekteissa mukana olleilta henkilöiltä sekä kirjallisesti että ryhmä- ja kahdenkeskisissä keskusteluissa. Tämän diplomityön seurauksena kehitettiin vaiheistettu ketterä projektimalli, jossa ohjelmiston parametrointi tehdään yhdessä asiakkaan kanssa työpajatyöskentelynä. Projektimallissa vähennetään ylimääräisen työn tekemistä vaiheistamalla projektit loogisiin, pienempiin kokonaisuuksiin, ottamalla järjestelmä heti projektin alkuvaiheessa tuotantokäyttöön ja tuomalla asiakas mukaan järjestelmän kehittämiseen. Tehtyjen ketterien projektin kokemusten pohjalta tunnistettiin myös jatkokehityskohteita uuteen projektimalliin. Diplomityön tulokset tukevat ketterien käytäntöjen soveltumista projekteihin, joissa hyödynnetään valmisohjelmistoa. Projektien kokemukset olivat erittäin hyviä ja kannustavat sekä mallin kehittämiseen että jatkotutkimuksen tekemiseen. |
