Abstract (eng): | The aim of this master's thesis is to find out the quality and quantity of urban located stored electrical and electronic equipment from households with a questionnaire. In this study calculations were made determining SE equipment amounts. Of interest were IT and telecommunications equipment's and consumer equipment's. The survey was made on a web-based Webropol 2.0-survey application, which reached 154 people during September - October 2011. WEEE storing is closely linked to consumers' attitudes and willingness to recycle. The theoretical framework used in this study is the so-called Theory of Planned Behavior, (TPB), which is used in several studies investigating environmental attitudes. These were investigated with the environment and recycling attitude claims. The results were analysed with the SPSS-18 statistical program. The results support the conclusion that the electrical and electronic equipment is stored in the households in this study, approximately 26 w-% of all household devices. The most common reasons for storing were assumptions of later use of the device or of consumer's inefficiency in the removal of the equipment. The results found out how much time devices have been in use or storage in the household and where they ultimately have ended up. Mobile phones are stored more easily in households because of their size and they are the most common equipment both in use and in storage. Usually the electrical equipment is removed because of malfunction or device failure due to technical obsolescence. Equipment end up in recycling centers and fixed collection points or given away as gifts or for other reuse. Recycling incentives is to get rid of unnecessary goods. The prior experience in recycling greatly affect how easy or difficult it is to export the equipment for recycling. The survey results showed that the respondents were interested in recycling. Most of them considered recycling electronic equipment important. By giving more information about recycling electronic equipment, should be increased people's attitudes towards recycling. |
Kyselytutkimus tehtiin Internet-pohjaisella Webropol 2.0-kyselytutkimus sovellutuksella, jolla tavoitettiin henkilöä syys - lokakuun aikana 2011. Kierrättämisen kannustimena on turhista tavaroista eroon pääseminen. |
