Abstract (eng): Near Field Communication (NFC) is a short range wireless technology based on RFID that is aimed for mobile phones and other mobile devices.
The connection between a NFC device and a passive tag or another NFC device is automatically established by touching them together of bringing them into close proximity.
The most popular use cases are payment and ticketing applications, and the Card Emulation operating mode of NFC makes it possible to integrate standard smartcards into mobile phones.

NFC can be used for connection handover, e.g. an easy set-up of other wireless communication methods like Bluetooth or Wi-Fi when more range or bandwidth is needed, simply by touching the devices together.
The purpose of this work is to apply the connection handover functionality to an existing Bluetooth door opening system to enable unlocking doors simply by touching a tag on a door with a mobile phone.
We also implement a prototype of a lock that uses only NFC, and evaluate the security and usability of NFC in general and specifically in electronic locking systems.
Abstract (fin): Near Field Communication (NFC) on lyhyen kantaman langaton viestintätapa, joka perustuu RFID tekniikkaan.

Yhteys voidaan muodostaa yksinkertaisesti laitteilla toisiaan koskettamalla, jolloin uuden yhteyden muodostamiseen tarvittavat parametrit luetaan NFC:llä.

Tämän työn tarkoitus on lisätä yhteyden siirto-ominaisuus olemassa olevaan Bluetoothilla toimivaan ovenavausjärjestelmään, jolloin ovien avaaminen voidaan suorittaa yksinkertaisesti koskettamalla ovessa olevaa tunnistetta matkapuhelimella.
