Abstract (eng):This thesis focuses on magnetic susceptibility measurements of core plugs.
Different coils are simulated to see how different coil shapes and heart material affect the coil performance.
Some coil prototypes are made and tested on real life core plugs.
Also other core logging methods than magnetic susceptibility measurement are introduced.

Logging magnetic susceptibility of drill core from core box faces many challenges.
Nails that are used in the box cause disturbances in the measurement.
Also if the measurements are done on-site, disturbances, for example moistness of the core, may affect the measurements.
Iron heart seemed like the best material to measure large changes in susceptibility.
U-shaped coil seemed to behave better than straight coil when measuring changes in the core, and it was more robust against disturbing objects.
The placement of the U-shaped coil was important.
Having the U-shaped coil on the longitude axis of the core gave better results than having it on the cut axis of the core.
Abstract (fin):Tämä diplomityö keskittyy porasydämen magneettisen suskeptibiliteetin mittaamiseen.

Porasydämen magneettisen suskeptibiliteetin mittaaminen porasydänlaatikosta on hankalaa.
