Reading digital theses in the closed network of the Aalto University Harald Herlin Learning Centre

You can read theses on the Learning Centre customer computers, which are available on all floors.

Logging on to the customer computers

  • Aalto University staff members log on to the customer computer using the Aalto username and password.
  • Other customers log on using a shared username and password.

Opening a thesis

  • On the desktop of the customer computers, you will find an icon titled:

    Aalto Thesis Database

  • Click on the icon to search for and open the thesis you are looking for from Aaltodoc database. You can find the thesis file by clicking the link on the OEV or OEVS field.

Reading the thesis

  • You can either print the thesis or read it on the customer computer screen.
  • You cannot save the thesis file on a flash drive or email it.
  • You cannot copy text or images from the file.
  • You cannot edit the file.

Printing the thesis

  • You can print the thesis for your personal study or research use.
  • Aalto University students and staff members may print black-and-white prints on the PrintingPoint devices when using the computer with personal Aalto username and password. Color printing is possible using the printer u90203-psc3, which is located near the customer service. Color printing is subject to a charge to Aalto University students and staff members.
  • Other customers can use the printer u90203-psc3. All printing is subject to a charge to non-University members.

Abstract (eng): In this research, on the market available and under developing hydraulic hybrid transmission systems are studied.
The basics of hydraulics, the hybridization and its architecture, as well as implementation and regeneration of braking energy are introduced.

The concept of hybrid car is commonly seen only as an electric transmission system in which an electric battery is used as energy storage.
The electric battery has poor power density.
Because of that it is difficult to recuperate suddenly large amount of braking power.
In order to grow efficiency, the battery is oversized which leads to heavy weight.

A hydraulic pressure accumulator has better power density than electric battery.
That means that it has lighter weight and smaller size than an electric battery.
It also has better efficiency in rapid energy recuperation situations.
By using braking energy regeneration, it is possible to decrease the fuel consumption of heavy vehicles.

Traditional hydraulic systems work only with moderate efficiency.
Therefore the electric hybrid systems are used mostly in passenger cars.
Using hydraulic system and component improvements (Floating-Cup, digital pump, common pressure rail) it makes possible to get better efficiency, which makes possible to use hydraulic systems also in passenger cars.
Abstract (fin): Tässä tutkimuksessa kartoitetaan markkinoilla ja kehitteillä olevia hydraulisia hybridijärjestelmiä ajovoimansiirrossa.
Hydrauliikan perusteet käydään läpi pintapuolin.
Tutustutaan hybridisointiin, sen eri rakennetyyppeihin ja toteutuksiin sekä jarruenergian regenerointiin.

Puhekielessä hybridillä tarkoitetaan sähköisiä hybridiajovoimansiirtojärjestelmiä, joissa energiavarastona käytetään sähköakkua.
Sähköakulla on huono tehotiheys, jolloin suuren jarruenergian hetkellisen talteenoton ja uudelleenkäytön hyötysuhde on heikko.
Hyötysuhteen parantamiseksi sähköakku joudutaan ylimitoittamaan ja järjestelmän paino kasvaa.

Paineakulla on suurempi tehotiheys kuin sähköakulla, eli paineakku on kevyempi ja kooltaan pienempi.
Paineakku toimii myös paremmalla hyötysuhteella nopeissa energian talteenotto- ja uudelleenkäyttötilanteissa.
Jarruenergian hyötykäytöllä voidaan alentaa huomattavasti raskaiden ajoneuvojen polttoainekulutusta.

Perinteiset hydrau1ijrjestelmät toimivat vain kohtalaisella hyötysuhteella, ja siksi henkilöautoissa käytetäänkin sähköistä hybridijärjestelmää.
Järjestelmä- ja komponenttitason parannukset (Floating-Cup, digitaalipumppu, vakiopainejärjestelmä) mahdollistavat hydraulijärjestelmän hyvän kokonaishyötysuhteen, jolloin hydraulijärjestelmiä voidaan käyttää myös henkilöautoissa.
