Abstract (eng): Condebelt drying is a drying technology that stems from the paper industry.
It utilizes both a hot contact plate and a vacuum to dry cardboard.
The ED-dryer used in this study utilizes the same principle as the condebelt-technology.
Because this project has moved from the laboratory phase into the pilot phase, some difficulties have been encountered due to this change in scale.
This study focuses on solving these difficulties and optimization of the ED-dryer.

The goal of this study was to find the functioning parameters of the ED-dryer needed to produce quality veneer.
This study focuses on the finding and adjusting of those parameters.
The most crucial parameters being drying time and temperature.
With the adjusting of these parameters it was sought to produce dried veneer with low and even moisture content.

The change in scale from a laboratory one to a pilot one caused unexpected changes especially in the adjusting of the drying temperature.
In the end however optimal drying parameters were discovered that led to an even and low moisture content in the dried veneer.
Other functioning parameters were also optimized in a way that allowed the ED-dryer to dry quality veneer efficiently.
Abstract (fin): Condebelt-kuivaus on paperiteollisuudesta peräisin oleva kartongin kuivausmenetelmä, joka hyödyntää kontaktikuivausta ja alipainetta.
Tämän työn keskeisessä osassa on ED-kuivaaja, joka toimii tämän condebelt-teknologian pohjalta.
Koska kyseinen hanke on siirtynyt laboratoriovaiheesta pilottivaiheeseen, seuraa tästä mittakaavanmuutoksesta odottamattomia hankaluuksia.
