Abstract (eng): This thesis focuses on studying the business feasibility of the future m-commerce (mobile commerce) landscape.
The main objective of this thesis is to evaluate future m-commerce markets, and conclude strategy recommendations for the m-commerce industry and companies on how to introduce m-commerce in Finland successfully.
This thesis also includes studying the technology evolution of m-commerce.

The literature study covers theories about the diffusion of innovation and technology adoption life cycle.
Interviews with industry specialists were held to provide a thorough understanding of the drivers and uncertainties affecting the emerging industry.

The market and technology analysis shows that the evolution of infrastructure m-commerce technologies will enable the leaders to launch m-commerce services with feasible business models in near future.
However, it is the efforts of the m-commerce value-chain and market that will drive the m-commerce diffusion rate in Finland and determine when m-commerce will make its break-through.
Abstract (fin): Tämä diplomityö tutkii lähitulevaisuuden mobiilin sähköisen kaupan markkinoita liiketoiminnallisesta näkökulmasta.

Markkinoiden kehittymiseen vaikuttavia asioita selvitetään asiantuntijahaastatteluiden avulla.

Diplomityön tulokset osoittavat, että teknologian kehitys tulee mahdollistamaan järkevän liiketoiminnan mobiilikaupassa lähivuosien aikana.
Markkinoilla olevien toimijoiden ymmärrys ja panostus mobiilikauppaan tulevina vuosina tulee kuitenkin määräämään vauhdin, jolla mobiilikauppa otetaan vastaan kuluttajien keskuudessa.
