Abstract (eng): Life Cycle Cost LCC covers all costs that occur for a product during its whole life cycle.
The goal of this thesis was to build a practical LCC model for Electric Overhead Travelling EOT cranes, and test the model with analyses in a pilot.
As a higher goal was to use the results of LCC analyses to determine a cost for a lifting service, a so-called cost per performance.
This lifting service should include all cost associated with the crane.

During the study, a LCC model was build and put to trial in a pilot were analyses for two EOT cranes in heavy process usage in the steel industry were made.
An old manually operated crane as well as a new, automatic crane were analysed and compared.
The necessary data and sources for the analyses were collected to a LCC "Quick Start" table with the intention of helping the making of similar analyses in the future.

The results showed that the old, manual crane was a lot more costly than the newer automatic crane.
The cranes were compared for a period of four years.
Under this focused observation period the older crane had generated four times more total LCC and over twice as much maintenance costs as the newer crane.

The cost of the lifting service was defined in euro per produced ton steel, and was for the older crane 0.69 € per ton and for the new crane 0.57 € per ton with the present settings.
The sensitivity analysis showed that when altering the input factor with the highest influence with +/-10%, the results varied with +/-4.6%.
This uncertainty was considered acceptable.

A suggestion was finally made how to charge the pricing of the service, which compared it with the electricity charging of households in Finland.
Abstract (fin): Tuotteen elinjaksokustannukset kattavat kaikki elinjakson aikana syntyvät kustannukset.

Nostopalvelun kustannus annettiin euroissa nostettua terästuotantotonnia kohti.
Kustannus saatiin vanhalle nosturille 0,69 € tuotantotonnia kohti nykyisillä asetuksilla.
Uudemmalle nosturille kustannukseksi kertyi 0,57 € tuotantotonnia kohti.
Herkkyysanalyysi osoitti että muuttamalla vaikuttavinta tekijää +/-10 %, lopputulos vaihteli +/-4,6 %.
Tätä epävarmuutta pidettiin hyväksyttävänä.

Lopuksi tehtiin ehdotus hinnoittelusta, jonka mukaan nostopalveluista velotettaisiin Suomen sähkölaskujen perimistavan mukaan.
