Abstract (eng): The aim of this master's thesis was to examine the real time orientation of a terrestrial laser scanner by using VRS-RTK-method and its impact on scanner's accuracy.
The most important goal was to recognize the dominant error sources and determine their role in the final measurement accuracy.

All the data for the analysis was gathered in the field and because of this, the results should be usable in other projects, similar to this, as well.
The estimated accuracies of the scanners were based on the measurements done to the four adjusted control points which were located around the site.
Estimated inner, relative and final accuracies of the scanners were based on coordinate differences between adjusted control points and measurements made to control points.

Results of this thesis show that the performance of the scanner, i.e. inner accuracy, has a very little impact on the final accuracy of the 3D-model.
The largest error sources originate from the measuring techniques used in the field.
The main conclusion of this thesis was that the terrestrial laser scanning from a free station point is very effective and powerful application for modelling the world around us.
But at the same time it sets a great deal of responsibilities for the user in the field.
Abstract (fin): Tässä diplomityössä tutkittiin staattisen terrestriaalisen laserkeilaimen tosiaikaista orientointia vapaalta asemapisteeltä RTK-menetelmällä VRS-verkossa ja sen vaikutusta laserkeilaimen tarkkuuteen.

Tarkkuusarviot tutkimuksessa mukana olleiden kojeiden tarkkuuksista perustuivat neljälle, eri puolella kohdetta oleville, tasoitetulle kontrollipisteelle tehtyihin havaintoihin.
