Abstract (eng): | Ambient intelligence is a new system design paradigm that targets to bring large number of interconnected computing equipment's around the user to build a distributed computing architecture that hides complexity of underlying systems behind a natural interaction between machines and the user. In the vision of MIMOSA research project, the center of ambient intelligence is the user with a personal trusted device, called MIMOSA terminal. Other architectural building blocks are radio-equipped sensor or control nodes and RFID tags that can be used to build wireless remote powered sensors. The latter two system components are used as senses of ambient intelligence. Actual intelligence can be built either on the terminal or on the back-end server that is connected using an Internet connection. Therefore the terminal should have wireless connection capability to backend servers. Four key technologies in MIMOSA research project, in addition to micro-and nanotechnologies, are short-range radio connectivity, context sensing, intuitive user interfaces, and energy scavenging to enable energy autonomy of numerous sensor devices. |
Abstract (fin): | Älykäs ympäristö on uusi systeemitason suunnittelumalli, jonka keskeisinä tavoitteina on luoda luonnollisesti käytettävä hajautettuun laskenta-arkkitehtuuriin perustuva ympäristö, jonka monimutkaisuus on piilotettu helpon käyttöliittymän taakse. MIMOSA-tutkimusprojektin visio on tarjota käyttäjälle luontainen käyttöliittymä luotettavan henkilökohtaisen päätelaitteen kautta. MIMOSA päätelaite on kännykänkaltainen langattomalla Internet-yhteydellä varustettu tietokone. |
