Abstract (eng): The aim of this thesis was to create a human factors continuation training programme for Finnair's technical personnel.
The purpose of this training programme was to meet with the requirements of the aviation authorities and enhance flight safety.

The requirements of the aviation authorities were studied from the Commission of the European Communities Regulations that are in force.
Material was also collected about organization and realization of airplane maintenance and human factors programme at Finnair Technical Services from organization's internal manual and internet pages as well as by interviewing personnel.
A literature review was carried out of learning and human factors in airplane maintenance.
Damages and incidents caused by human factors as well as quality audit findings at Finnair Technical Services were also analysed in this research.
The collected research and literature review material was utilized when designing the continuation training programme and when compiling the training material.

The human factors continuation training programme was designed to be accomplished as computer based training.
Personnel are to take part in this computer based training every two years.
Furthermore human factors workshops are arranged for all mechanics, supervisors and inspectors.

The aims of this thesis were reached.
In fact, the most important aim of this thesis, that is to say the influence of the human factors continuation training on the enhancement of the flight and maintenance safety, will be recognized in a longer period of time.
Due to this thesis human factors continuation training programme will start at Finnair Technical Services.
Abstract (fin): Tämän diplomityön tavoitteena oli luoda ilmailuviranomaisen vaatimusten mukainen, lentoturvallisuutta parantava huoltoturvallisuuden ylläpitokoulutusjärjestelmä Finnair Tekniikalle.

Tutkimuksessa saavutettiin sille asetetut tavoitteet.
Tosin tutkimuksen tärkein tavoite eli huoltoturvallisuuden ylläpitokoulutuksen vaikutus lento- ja huoltoturvallisuuden parantumiseen nähdään vasta pidemmän ajanjakson kuluessa.
Tutkimuksen ansiosta Finnair Tekniikassa pystytään aloittamaan huoltoturvallisuuden ylläpitokoulutus.
