Abstract (eng): The purpose of this work was to apply blade and spray at a same coating application and achieved different properties same time from blade and spray coating application.
The choice of base paper was low grammage LWC base paper.
The coating methods used in this work was blade coating, spray coating and combination (Blade and Spray coating together) coating.
Low coat weight was also target.
The target was evaluated by measuring coated paper properties with their relevant standard observation.

In the literature review, different coating method was discussed and also discussed about some paper properties.
About LWC base paper was studied in details.
In literature work, There was discussion about different pigments.
The primary idea of combination application was introduced.

In the experiment work, at first the properties of base papers were measured and analyzed.
Different coating colour was made and measured their properties in this research.
Coating colour with best properties was chosen for the final work.
Suitable model for combination coating application was made.
The base paper was LWC and wood free uncoated paper.
But for final work, LWC was chosen.
Primarily in this work, There were three pigments like PCC, Kaolin and gypsum.
But finally, Gypsum was chosen for pigments of coating colour.
Two types of solids content coating colour were chosen but the solids content of final coating colour was 56 %.
Gloss, Opacity, brightness, bulk, surface roughness and formation of coated paper was measured.
In blade coating, two different blade loads was used.
In combination coating application three different blade loads was used.

The best result was achieved from the combination coating application.
In combination coating application, the coat weight was 7-17,9 g/m2.
Spray with higher blade load provided good coverage in combination coating application.
In combination coating, Spray with lower blade load provided good result in terms of gloss, brightness and opacity.
On the other hand, spray with higher blade load provided good result on the surface properties of coated papers.
Combination coating application provided good result in the point of optical and surface properties of coated paper compare to blade and spray coating application individually.
