Abstract (eng): In this thesis research the structure of fields today in South-Western Finland with the aid of statistics and map analysis.
The situation today will then be compared to the major parcel material to examine what would be the optimal structure here and how to get there.
We'll concentrate especially to four municipalities, whose land consolidation potential will be more thoroughly studied.
One of the goals is to create a unanimous model of how to research the land consolidation potential.
This model can then be used all over the country.

This Master's Thesis will bring new information on field property structure in South-Western Finland for The National Land Survey of Finland.
The medium size of the fields is considered the most important figure.
By increasing it, we can obtain the greatest benefits for increasing the agricultural effectiveness.
On ground of this and other statistics the NLS can examine the need for and consolidations and which areas are the priorities.

I have concentrated on Laitila, Salo and Somero municipalities, which are considered among the most important agricultural areas in the county.
The fourth municipality is Kemiönsaari, which is considered to be of less importance for the agriculture in the county.
It will bring a different point of view to the thesis and something to compare the others to.
It will also help in deciding how to separate the best areas from the worse ones.
Abstract (fin): Työssä tutkitaan peltotilusten rakenteen nykytilannetta Varsinais-Suomessa tunnuslukujen ja karttatarkastelun avulla.

Lohkokokoa kasvattamalla saadaan suurimmat hyödyt maatalouden tehokkuuden kannalta.
