Abstract (eng): | In this thesis work new possibilities to replace the existing pulse oximeter from GE are examined. The medical standards, extensive market scope, and use environment requirements have vastly reformed from the year 1995 when the current pulse oximeter was designed. GEs new TruSignal measurement board is utilized in this work, which provides accurate oxygen saturation calculations. The main task in this thesis work is to design a hardware platform prototype sketch that can be used as a guideline for the future projects. A few alternative design options and design factors are considered, which results the specifications for the feature-rich and cost-effective solution to the desired market segment. The product design process in this thesis work evaluates the suitability of microcontroller, display unit, battery solution and other components so that the main requirements are fulfilled. Finally, the circuit' schematics for the possible new hardware platform are generated and discussed. Based on these schematics, the power consumption and overall price of the proposed design are estimated. |
Abstract (fin): | Tässä diplomityössä tarkastellaan mahdollisuuksia uuden pulssioksimetrin toteuttamiseksi, jolla voidaan korvata GE:n nykyinen pulssioksimetri vuodelta 1995. Kortin ympärille tulee rakentaa elektroniikka lopputuotteen toteuttamiseksi. Työssä tarkastellaan eri suunnittelukriteereitä ja säädöksiä, joiden pohjalta suunnittelun apuna käytettävät spesifikaatiot lopulta luodaan. Eri toteutusmahdollisuuksia on tarkasteltu laitteiston kannalta siten, että lopputulos sisältäisi halutut ominaisuudet mahdollisimman kilpailukykyiseen hintaan. Työssä käydään läpi tuotesuunnitteluprojekti, jonka avulla arvioidaan mikrokontrollerin, näyttöyksikön, akkuratkaisun sekä muiden komponenttien sopivuutta lopputuotteeseen, jotta kaikki työn vaatimukset tulisivat täytetyiksi. Työn lopulla esitellään mahdolliset piirikaaviot laitteiston toteuttamiseksi, joiden avulla voidaan arvioida lopputuotteen tehonkulutusta ja hintaa. Työtä voidaan käyttää tulevaisuudessa apuna ohjaamaan seuraavan sukupolven happisaturaatiomonitorin kehitystyötä. |
