Abstract (eng):This master's thesis focuses on fan noise attenuation in two frequency converters by constructive methods.
R0 12A6-4 and R6 145A-3 devices are studied and the main objective of this thesis is to attenuate the fan noise by focusing on better design of the devices.
Frequency converters are power electronic devices, which are able to control the speed and the torque of alternating current motors.
Without a frequency converter, alternating current motors will rotate with a constant speed set by the frequency of the electrical grid.
In these cases, the necessary adjustments of the processes have to be made unfavorably in terms of energy consumption.
Frequency converters manufactured by ABB use air cooling.
The main issue of the air cooling is the fan noise and the annoyance of the noise.
As frequency converters become more common, the noise will cause problems in applications where devices are installed nearby humans.
As a result of this thesis, the structures of the devices were modified.
Particular attention was paid to the vibrations of the fan, downstream and upstream side isolation, structure-born noise and low resistance of flow of finger guards.
Abstract (fin):Tässä työssä keskitytään kahden taajuusmuuttajan, R0 12A6-4 ja R6 145A-3, puhallinmelun vaimentamiseen konstruktiivisin menetelmin.
Työn tavoite on vaimentaa laitteiden melutasoa keskittymällä laitteiden parempaan suunnitteluun.
