Abstract (eng): | The purpose of this study is to focus on the evolving architectures related to Web integration scenarios. Requirements derived from business incentives cause constant pressure for change on Web based applications. This combined with the hectic tempo of conducting business in the Web environment, demands flexibility from the integration architectures. Since new loosely coupled distributed design suffers from performance issues, a well-streamlined architecture utilizes loosely coupled new breed distribution together with traditional rigid structures and produces an optimal amount of flexibility and performance. Comparative analysis on data obtained by the Grounded Theory method reveals two central categories that are vital for these kinds of Web integration architectures: a vertical and horizontal communication between stakeholders and a common vision of an organized structure iterated over time. A Case Study conducted at the end of the thesis implies the importance of communication between business and IT competencies. On the other hand, the idea of using a Web Platform as the vision of an organized structure does not gain sufficient momentum. |
Abstract (fin): | Diplomityössä käsitellään Web-integraatioratkaisuissa syntyviä arkkitehtuureja, joihin kohdistuu jatkuva liiketoimintatarvelähtöinen muutospaine. Perinteisesti Web-ymparistössä on tehty töitä suhteellisen lyhytnäköisesti, mikä on vaatinut joustoa syntyneiltä Web-arkkitehtuureilta. |
