Abstract (eng): | Bedrock investigations for rock excavation projects are mostly done for locating and rock mechanical design of the underground spaces. Investigations made for estimating the excavability are not as common. The aim of the study was to clarify the main problems related to rock excavation and to find out investigation methods suitable for predicting and defining more accurately the difficult rock conditions to be encountered during construction. The adequacy and quality of bedrock data, which is available for pricing a tender, was also examined. The study can be applied to the Finnish Precambrian bedrock or to other hard crystalline rocks which are situated in a cold climate and where the drill and blast -method is applied to rock excavation. This study deals with the geological factors that affect excavability, bedrock investigations and methods that can be used to predict excavability of the rock mass. The problems that occur during excavation and the reasons for them were clarified by a questionnaire study and example projects. This study also includes a comparison, which indicates the amount of investigations done in underground projects. The findings of this study indicate that the fractured and weathered rock and a sudden change of the rock conditions cause the most severe problems. Bedrock investigations, that are carried out today, aren't sufficient and accurate enough to detect the geological factors that affect excavability. The quality of data, which is available for tendering, vary quite much and in some examined cases inadequate for estimating the rock excavability. |
Abstract (fin): | Kalliorakennushankkeissa kallioperätutkimuksia tehdään nykyään pääasiassa tilan asemointia ja kalliomekaanista suunnittelua silmällä pitäen ja kallion louhittavuuden arvioimiseksi tehdyt tutkimukset ovat jääneet vähemmälle. Tämän työn tavoitteena oli selvittää, mitä ongelmia louhinnan aikana ilmenee ja millaisia kallioperätutkimuksia tulisi tehdä, jotta vaikeat louhintaolosuhteet pystyttäisiin paremmin ennakoimaan. Lisäksi oli tarkoitus ottaa kantaa urakkalaskennassa käytettävissä olevan kallioperätiedon riittyvyyteen. Työ on rajattu koskemaan Suomea ja muita kylmässä ilmanalassa sijaitsevia Prekambristen, pääasiassa kovien kivilajien muodostamia kallioperäalueita. Louhittavuutta on käsitelty poraus-räjäytys -menetelmän näkökannalta. |
