Abstract (eng): This study focuses on VoIP in mobile and wireless environments.
The trend in wired networks has been to move to an all-IP solution for audio, video and data.
VoIP is an important part of this trend and has therefore grown in popularity.
One of the main enablers for VoIP in fixed networks is the popularity and availability of broadband Internet access.
Mobile and wireless Internet broadband is only in its childhood compared to fixed networks.

The main research problem of this study is to categorize into different scenarios how mobile and wireless VoIP can be used.
These scenarios will be compared and evaluated on a short and a long term basis.

The literature study examines the terms and concepts of real options theory, centralized vs. distributed network service management and sustaining vs. disruptive innovation theory.

The synthesis and analysis of this study provides an outlook for the future of mobile and wireless VoIP.
It evaluates the importance of VoIP in future wireless and mobile telecommunications.
