Abstract (eng): | The purpose of this master's thesis was to find out the changes in mechanical design process of a company which recently has moved from local subcontracting to global subcontracting. On the basis of this report an opportunity for concrete actions in a development project of the mechanical design process was created. Effective cooperation between the main supplier and a subcontractor is based on com-mon rules. In effective cooperation matters do not need to be agreed separately and repeatedly. A condition for effective cooperation is for example manufacturing docu-mentation which both parties understand unambiguously without repeated interpretation. Nowadays, mechanical design is made computeraided. The most important tools in computer-aided design are CAD, ERP and PDM systems. These systems are exploited effectively if the information is congruent between the systems. In such a situation, the systems are often integrated. Effective system integration improves designer's productivity, because less time is spent in information searching. In this master's thesis ways to prepare proper manufacturing documents for global subcontracting are suggested. Also, actions for enhancing the use of design systems and lightening the workload of the designer are proposed in this master's thesis. |
Abstract (fin): | Tämän diplomityön tavoitteena oli selvittää lokaalista alihankinnasta globaaliin alihan-kintaan siirtyneen yrityksen mekaniikkasuunnittelun työnkuvassa tapahtuneet muutokset. Selvityksen pohjalta yritykselle luotiin esitys konkreettisille toimenpiteille suunnittelun kehittämisessä. Diplomityössä ehdotetaan keinoja globaalin alihankintakelpoisen valmistusdokumentaation luomiseksi. Lisäksi työssä esitetään toimenpiteitä, joilla yritys voi tehostaa suunnittelutyökalujen käyttöä sekä organisaation sisäisiä järjestelyjä, joilla suunnittelijan työkuormaa voidaan keventää. |
