Abstract (eng): | PURPOSE: The purpose of this work is to explore the possible production-related problems of Metso Automation Ltd Helsinki supply centre. Increased customer requirements as well as increased product customization suggest some improvements to the current system can be made. This work will explore the most plausible ones that can be affected by assembly production itself. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Literature review and benchmark investigation are used to identify and to introduce the requirements of customer-driven production from the standpoint of assembly production. According to the literature review development model for customer driven production is constructed. Present production circumstances and black spots are evaluated on the basis of the created development model. The most important development targets are appointed, and concrete proposals for Metso Automation are introduced. RESULTS: It was possible to create a development model for customer driven production based on the literature review. The model was compared to present state of production. Preliminary black spots in productions reflected the same targets of development that were referred in the literature. As a result, the most important targets of development were considered to be continual development, workforce competence and motivation, improvement of information flow, simplification of the shop floor control and the development of production control. Additionally important factors were production flexibility and cutting lead-times. Several concrete proposals for Metso Automation were introduced, and five of them were chosen as a starting point of further development. CONCLUSIONS: There are a number of factors affecting customer-driven production, which are not covered in the scope of this thesis, such as development of product design and tense co-operation with component factories and sales and marketing. This work lists some changes to be made in the assembly production in Helsinki supply centre, in order to improve production of highly customized products. Improvements are needed to ensure successful deliveries in the future. |
Abstract (fin): | TYÖN TARKOITUS: Työn tarkoitus on osoittaa Metso Automation Oyj:n Flow Control -liiketoimintalinjan Helsingin toimituskeskukselle yhdistelmätuotannon kehityskohteita muuttuvassa toimitusympäristössään. Lisääntyvien asiakasvaatimusten seurauksena ratkaisua lähdetään etsimään tuoteräätälöinnin ja asiakaslähtöisen tuotannon saralta. Työssä nostetaan esiin tärkeimmät kehityskohteet, joihin kokoonpanotuotannolla on suoraan mahdollisuus vaikuttaa. MENETELMÄT: Kirjallisuus- ja benchmark-tutkimuksen perusteella määritetään asiakaslähtöisen tuotannon ominaispiirteet ja vaatimukset kokoonpanotuotannon näkökulmasta. Kirjallisuuden pohjalta muodostetaan asiakaslähtöisen tuotannon kehittämisen malli. Flow Control -tuotelinjan nykyhetkeä sekä alustavia ongelmia arvioidaan kehittämismallin avulla. Mallin perusteella määritetään tuotannon tärkeimmät kehityskohteet, joista edelleen esitetään konkreettisia ehdotuksia Metson Automationin tuotannon kehittämiseksi. TULOKSET: Kirjallisuuden perusteella oli mahdollista luoda asiakaslähtöisen tuotannon kehittämisen malli, jota verrattiin tuotannon nykytilaan. Tuotannon alustavat ongelmat heijastivat kirjallisuuden mainitsemia kehityskohteita. |
