Abstract (eng): | This thesis examines the logistics solutions of the automation devices contained in the automation tower developed by the target organization. The purpose of the study is to develop an efficient model for its logistics. Customer satisfaction can be leveraged and business targets achieved by enhancing logistics processes. The present logistics status was determined to identify possibilities to shorten the penetration time and to reduce logistics costs. It was obvious that keeping the automation tower at workshop during paper machine section preassembly is not necessary. Sea transportation can be removed by starting automation tower manufacturing in China. Furthermore, implementation of the newly developed supply chain application by the target organization will enhance logistics operations and co-operation with suppliers. The lower cost level in China has a positive impact, but even bigger benefits could be yielded by removing prolonged sea transportations. The shortening of penetration time and postponing of automation tower delivery would result in reduced capital costs. Better payment terms would enhance the more effective utilization of income financing in the logistics process. The further verification of the study results necessitates well-established practices, reliable partnerships, materialized cases and case analyses. |
Abstract (fin): | Tutkimusraportissa analysoitiin kohdeorganisaation kehittämän paperikoneen automaatiolaitteita sisältävän automaatiotornin logistisia ratkaisuja tarkoituksena löytää niille tehokas logistinen toimintamalli. Pitkän ajan vaativa laivarahti voitaisiin poistaa valmistuttamalla automaatiotorni Kiinassa. Lisäksi läpäisyaikaa voitaisiin lyhentää ja yhteistyötä päätoimittajan kanssa tehostaa käyttäen automaatiotornin hankintaprosessiin kohdeorganisaation kehittämää toimitusketjun hallintasovellusta. Logistisiin kustannuksiin ratkaisuilla vaikutettaisiin Kiinan alemman kustannustason vuoksi. Vieläkin merkittävämpiä kustannusetuja saavutettaisiin poistamalla laivarahdin aiheuttamat kustannukset hankintoja tehostaen. Pääomakustannukset pienenevät myöhästytetyn kustannuskertymän ansiosta. Paremmat maksuehdot edesauttaisivat logistisessa prosessissa tulorahoituksen tehokkaamman hyödyntämisen. Tutkimus vaatii tuekseen toimivat vakiintuneet käytännöt, luottamusta yhteistyökumppaneihin, toteutuneita tapauksia sekä niiden analysointia. |
