Abstract (eng): In this thesis, the characterization setup for green light generation in lithium niobate waveguides has been built.
In the beginning, the operational principles of the waveguides and the different waveguide structures have been introduced.
The properties and the fabrication methods of the lithium niobate waveguides, which are used to second-harmonic generation, have been discussed in Chapter 3.

Using this theoretical background, the characterization setup for lithium niobate waveguides could have been designed.
The final part of the thesis has been focused on designing and building the setup, and measuring the stability of this setup.

Finally, the green light has been generated using the setup, and the improvements of the setup are discussed.
Abstract (fin): Tässä työssä on rakennettu mittauslaitteisto litiumniobaattiaaltojohteille, joita käytetään vihreän laservalon generointiin.
Aluksi työssä on kerrottu aaltojohteiden toimintaperiaatteista ja niiden erilaisista rakenteista.
Kolmannessa kappaleessa on käsitelty toisen harmonisen generointiin käytettäviä litiumniobaattiaaltojohteita, niiden ominaisuuksia ja valmistusmenetelmiä.

Näitä teoriatietoja käyttämällä on voitu suunnitella mittauslaitteisto litiumniobaattiaaltojohteiden karakterisointiin.
Työn loppuosassa on keskitytty tämän mittalaitteiston suunnitteluun ja rakentamiseen, sekä tehty luotettavuusmittauksia tälle laitteistolle.
Lopuksi työssä on generoitu vihreää valoa litiumniobaattiaaltojohteesta tämän mittauslaitteiston avulla, sekä pohdittu keinoja kehittää laitteistoa edelleen.
