Abstract (eng): | The global competition over the best human resources has unfolded through several drivers such as globalization, new labor trends, changed demographics and war for talent. As the global business environment evolves, the knowledge intensive work has more strategic resourcing options than ever before. Therefore multinational enterprises need to optimize their resourcing strategies to remain competitive also in the future. This study is conducted by literature review on competitive advantage, organizational theories, strategy and its dimensions and talent management in a global context. To synthesize the main findings of the study, the theory is combined with numerous semi-structured top management interview results on further development of the global resourcing strategy of one leading multinational technology company. The study in issue implicates that a global resourcing strategy must include internal and external workforce dimensions. That requires assimilation of core competences and capabilities. The strategy should also be extensively interconnected and integrated to iterative corporate, business and mergers and acquisitions strategies to generate sustainable competitive advantage. |
Abstract (fin): | Kiihtynyt globaali kilpailu henkilöstöstä johtuu globalisaatiosta, uusista työvoimatrendeistä, ikääntyneestä väestörakenteesta sekä taistelusta lahjakkaimmista työntekijöistä. Johtopäätökset on tuotettu yhdistämällä teoriatausta erään johtavan monikansallisen teknologiayrityksen useisiin ylemmän johdon haastatteluihin koskien kyseisen yrityksen globaalia henkilöstöstrategiaa. |
