mallien synkronointi
Abstract (eng): This thesis work examines the problem of synchronizing business process models.
Different stakeholders, such as business and IT, prefer to describe processes from different perspectives or abstraction levels, which leads to more than one model describing the process.
When one of these models is changed, the other(s) need to be synchronized.
This study proposes a process to manage this synchronization and demonstrates this approach with a prototype implementation.
The approach taken is based on a shared model concept, and the proposed process suggests having a three-step handshake between the stakeholders to propose, approve or reject, and finally resolve the rejected changes.

The work is a practical application of current research in the area of model synchronization.
The conclusion drawn was that the proposed process with three steps is a valid concept for approaching the problem, and that making decisions on operations case-specifically is not a good approach, but instead changes need to be grouped into entities that are approved or rejected as a whole.
This master thesis was made in association with IBM Research Laboratory in Zurich.
Abstract (fin): Tämä työ tarkastelee prosessimallien synkronointi ongelmaa.
