Abstract (eng): One of the major trends in modern telecommunications networks is Value-Added Service (VAS).
After Short Messaging Service (SMS), Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS) appears now.
It keeps growing very rapidly and becoming a new revenue growing point for both the mobile operators and service providers.

After the literature review of GPRS and MMS technology, several problems in planning and implementing MMS in GPRS network are discussed in a case study.
The case study is about planning and implementing MMS in GPRS network for a mobile operator.
As the results of case study, the detailed IP network plan and the planning and implementation roadmap are presented.
The solution is provided to each problem in the case study.
The five principles about planning and the two principles about implementation together form the general guidance for planning and implementing MMS in GPRS network.
The common approaches and methodologies about requirements analysis, IP network planning and project management are used throughout the ease study to achieve the results.

The results and the principles obtained in thesis are quite valuable for both the MMS solution supplier and the mobile operator.
They can use them as the reference or a kind of template while planning and implementing MMS in the commercial GPRS network.
