Abstract (eng): The objective of the thesis was to reduce extractive content in the end product of Enocell pulp mill, dried birch pulp, and to reduce rosin soap usage.
This was attempted by adding CO2 and rosin soap in the brown stock washers and by adding alcoxylated alcohol in the cooking liquor.

CO2 has been reported to release Ca·bound fatty acids and contribute washing of the extractives.
None of the deresination chemicals changes could reduce the gravimetric acetone extractive content in the dried birch pulp. 30 % reduction in rosin soap usage was achieved without remarkable change in dried birch pulp extractive content by reducing the rosin soap charge in the cooking liquor.

Over 50 % of the resin acid is adsorbed to chips during the heating and cooking sequence of the displacement batch cook.
Resin acid content in pulp from second washer has a remarkable effect on sterol and fatty acid content of bleach plant feed.
Abstract (fin):Tutkimuksen päätavoitteena oli Enocell Oy:n lopputuotteen eli kuivatun koivusellun uuteainepitoisuuden alentaminen sekä hartsisaippuakäytön vähentäminen.

Keittolipeän todettiin sisältävän liuenneena alle 50 % kuumamustalipeätäytössä keittimeen lisätystä hartsihappomäärästä, jolloin suurin osa on adsorboituneena hakkeeseen.
Toisen pesurin massan hartsihappopitoisuuden havaittiin vaikuttavan merkittävästi valkaisun syötön rasvahappoja sterolipitoisuuteen.
