Abstract (eng): The motivation of this work is to model and control a hybrid electric system with multiple power source/storage devices.
The system is usually comprised of a combination of fuel cell stack, super capacitor bank and battery branches, which working principles are near-identical.
Particularly the study of a simplified model consisting of only a super capacitor branch is emphasized, by means of computer simulations.
An interleaved bidirectional converter is introduced as the fundamental structure for regulating the current flow between the power source/storage and the load.
After applying feedback linearization technique, the current and voltage controller for the converter can be designed using conventional linear approaches.
The undesirable effects of the constant power load (negative impedance) are compensated by the controllers.
The unwanted switching noises are removed by applying synchronous sampling.
Simulation results reveal that the feedback linearization technique and the single-phase controller designing and tuning approaches are applicable for the nonlinear interleaved structure of the hybrid system.
The system also exhibits robustness to certain extent, when the plant parameter estimation errors are introduced to the simulation model.
