Abstract (eng): | Concrete is the most usual building material of Finnish car parks. The objective of this study was to compare the cost of composite structures and concrete element structures in typical intermediate floors of parking facilities. The moderate stiffness and load bearing capacity of available sheeting profiles have limited the use of composite floor structures in Finland. Contractors would like to get rid of temporary propping to accelerate the construction process. However and so far this has not been possible in spans typical for car parks with 5,0 and 7,5 meters column spacing. One of the main goals of this thesis was to study how these spans could be realized without propping. This research compared the construction cost of ten different structural systems with 5,0 and 7,5 m column spacing. The column spacing was achieved using different types of sheeting; pre-stressing, pre-camber, secondary structures, or casting of concrete in two phases. The 5,0 meter span can be reached using a 153 mm deep profiled sheeting. This type of sheeting has no bond with concrete, thus it functions as a permanent mold only. However, the composite action is not needed with live loads typical for car parks (2,5 kN/m2), because the bending capacity is not a critical factor in the dimensioning of this kind of building structure. Composite solutions were quite competitive compared to concrete element structures, especially if no fire resistance requirement existed. The fire protection of steel beams is quite expensive, and due to this, the economical competitive edge of composite frames almost disappears. In conclusion, composite structures could be a good solution for car parks, but additional research should be done to develop an optimally profiled sheeting and construction method. |
Abstract (fin): | Pysäköintitalot ovat Suomessa useimmiten teräsbetonirakenteisia. Tämän työn tarkoituksena oli tutkia liittorakenteisten vaihtoehtojen kilpailukykyä teräsbetonirakenteisiin verrattuna pilari-palkki-runkoisissa avoimissa pysäköintitaloissa. Vertailu tehtiin esimerkkilaskelmiin pohjautuvan kustannusarvion avulla. Liittorakentamisen kilpailukykyä betonielementtirakentamiseen verrattuna on heikentänyt valunaikaisen tuennan asennuksen ja purun aiheuttama ylimääräinen työ. Pysäköintirakennuksissa välipohjalaatan jänneväli määräytyy yleensä autopaikkojen leveyden perusteella, tyypillisesti jänneväli on 5,0 m tai 7,5 m. Yleisesti Suomessa käytettyjen liittopeltien jäykkyys on kuitenkin liian pieni, jotta nämä jännevälit saavutettaisiin ilman valunaikaista tuentaa. |
