Abstract (eng): | IT migration projects conducted in a complex stakeholder setting and critical information system are both challenging and critical for the system owner and supplier stakeholders. These are rare projects that have not been studied previously. However success or failure of such a project can significantly affect the participants' future business position. This research consists of one key literature area and two supporting areas. Main area is project success that is approached from several angles. The supporting areas are migration of legacy information systems and stakeholder analysis. The empirical study was conducted as a case study for three case projects. The research material was collected from eight interviewees. Usually a few interview sessions were held per person. The objective was to find success factors that are specific to the studied project type. The study revealed five success factors that could be associated with this type of projects. Sufficient expertise, careful planning and the importance of collaboration were perceived valuable. |
Ydinalue on projektin menestys, jota lähestytään useista eri näkökulmista. Lisäksi on käsitelty ikääntyneitä tietojärjestelmiä sekä sidosryhmäanalyysiä. Empiirinen tutkimus tehtiin tapaustutkimuksena kolmelle projektille. Tutkimusmateriaali kerättiin kahdeksalta haastateltavalta. Tyypillisesti haastatteluja oli muutamia jokaista haastateltavaa kohden. Tavoitteena oli saada selville tutkitulle projektityypille yleisiä menestystekijöitä. Tutkimus paljasti viisi menestystekijää, jotka voitiin liittää tutkittuun projektityyppiin. Riittävä tietotaito, huolellinen suunnittelu sekä yhteistyön merkitys nähtiin merkittäviksi. |
