The research method of this thesis is qualitative research based on two previous pilot outsourcing projects of the company.
In addition, research data are collected by case study and semi-structured interviews.

The main objective of this thesis are describing and analyzing the research findings of previous projects of a specific software company.
There are four major problem areas that cause previous projects fail: 1) initiating outsourcing project phase, 2) outsourcing project management process, 3) communication and collaboration, and 4) culture difference.
Generally speaking, culture difference is the basic under laying cause of project failure; lack of effective and efficient communication and collaboration didn't provide enough support to outsourcing activities; and lack of systematic project management process cause the ad hoc conditions and is the main reason of project failure.
