Abstract (eng): | The mobile messaging industry continues to grow over years. The growth poses higher requirements to the messaging gateway, both in terms of the message throughput and the number of simultaneous connections. The VAS connector component in Airwide Solutions' SMS gateway product was implemented with the traditional Nocking Java I/O APL The intensive thread overhead of the blocking I/O operations makes it impossible to scale up to meet the performance and scalability requirements with tuning and optimizations. A complete new solution is needed immediately. The goal of this thesis is to design and implement a high performance and scalable VAS connector for the SMS gateway using Java NIO technology, and compare to the old implementation to assess the applicability of the new solution. |
