Reading digital theses in the closed network of the Aalto University Harald Herlin Learning Centre

You can read theses on the Learning Centre customer computers, which are available on all floors.

Logging on to the customer computers

  • Aalto University staff members log on to the customer computer using the Aalto username and password.
  • Other customers log on using a shared username and password.

Opening a thesis

  • On the desktop of the customer computers, you will find an icon titled:

    Aalto Thesis Database

  • Click on the icon to search for and open the thesis you are looking for from Aaltodoc database. You can find the thesis file by clicking the link on the OEV or OEVS field.

Reading the thesis

  • You can either print the thesis or read it on the customer computer screen.
  • You cannot save the thesis file on a flash drive or email it.
  • You cannot copy text or images from the file.
  • You cannot edit the file.

Printing the thesis

  • You can print the thesis for your personal study or research use.
  • Aalto University students and staff members may print black-and-white prints on the PrintingPoint devices when using the computer with personal Aalto username and password. Color printing is possible using the printer u90203-psc3, which is located near the customer service. Color printing is subject to a charge to Aalto University students and staff members.
  • Other customers can use the printer u90203-psc3. All printing is subject to a charge to non-University members.

Abstract (eng): Safety management procedures for business premises often fail to be implemented systematically, as they exist only as idle computer files, for example.
Usually the problem is a lack of clear of job description among safety management personnel, resulting in shortcomings in real estate safety.

The main aim of this study is to propose improvements to safety management procedures for business premises.
Another aim is to study precisely what things are included in such schemes.
The main focus is on analysing the safety plan and related job delegation.
A further aim is to examine the role of the safety manager and prospects for developing this into a specialised service.

First the foundations of the thesis are presented with reference to literature, including an overview of relevant legislation.
Then follows the interview part of the study, in which examines statutory safety plan and their content, with input from experts and authorities.
A practical example of a safety management scheme is also presented.

As its key finding, this thesis defines the most important procedures and measures that should be implemented in the safety management of business premises.
The most important details that need to be addressed and clarified are content of the safety plan; the role delegation of safety personnel and the standard procedure for inter fire inspections.
Abstract (fin): Toimitilakiinteistöissä on erilaisia turvallisuusjohtamisen toimintamalleja, joita ei välttämättä ole kuitenkaan järjestelmällisesti noudatettu, vaan ne ovat olleet passiivina tiedostoina esimerkiksi tietokoneessa.
Yleensä puutteena ovat olleet turvallisuusjohtamisen epäselkeät toimenkuvat, jotka ovat johtaneet myös laiminlyönteihin kiinteistöturvallisuudessa.

Tutkimuksessa kehitetään turvallisuusjohtamisen toimintamalleja toimitilakiinteistössä.
Työssä on myös tavoitteena tutkia, mitä asioita toimintamallit pitävät sisällään.
Tärkeimpiä kohtia on pelastussuunnitelman ja siihen liittyvien toimenkuvien analysoiminen.
Lisäksi tavoitteeksi asetettiin turvajohtajan toimesta muodostettavan konseptin kehittäminen.

Työn lähtökohdat selvitetään ensiksi alan kirjallisuuden ja lainsäädännön avulla.
Toisen osan tutkimuksesta muodostaa haastattelututkimus, jossa tarkastellaan alan asiantuntijoiden ja viranomaisten avulla lähinnä pelastuslain ja -asetuksen tarkoittamaa pelastussuunnitelmaa sen sisältöä ja termistöä.
Työssä käytetään esimerkkinä Suomi-yhtiöiden Fennia-korttelia, johon on pyritty soveltamaan turvallisuusjohtamisen toimintamalleja.

Tutkimuksen tuloksena saatiin selville, mitkä muodostavat toimintaohjeet turvallisuusjohtamiselle toimitilakiinteistössä ja mitä toimia niihin sisältyy.
Tärkeimmiksi yksityiskohdiksi muodostuivat pelastussuunnitelman sisällön määrittäminen, sen termistön selkeyttäminen, turvallisuushenkilöstön toimenkuvien analysointi ja sisäisen palotarkastuksen määritteleminen.
