Abstract (eng): This thesis describes an experiment in modelling people and their social interaction in computer games.
Based on previous work in the field, I present my own solution, the Impression System, used in our game, Lies and Seductions.
The system tracks how attracted the computer-controlled characters are to the player character, depending on what personality traits the player expresses during play.
After describing the system, I analyze its strengths and weaknesses based on player testing.
The most important finding is that using prewritten dialogue to interact with the model leads to combinatorial explosion problems.
In addition, the system is lacking when it comes to modelling emotion.
Abstract (fin): Tämä opinnäytetyö kuvaa kokeellista projektia, jossa mallinnetaan ihmisiä ja heidän sosiaalista vuorovaikutustaan tietokonepelissä.
Olen kehittänyt aiempaan tutkimukseen pohjautuen mallin nimeltä Impression System, jota käytämme pelissä Lies and Seductions.
