Logging on to the customer computers

  • Aalto University staff members log on to the customer computer using the Aalto username and password.
  • Other customers log on using a shared username and password.

Opening a thesis

  • On the desktop of the customer computers, you will find an icon titled:

    Aalto Thesis Database

  • Click on the icon to search for and open the thesis you are looking for from Aaltodoc database. You can find the thesis file by clicking the link on the OEV or OEVS field.

Reading the thesis

  • You can either print the thesis or read it on the customer computer screen.
  • You cannot save the thesis file on a flash drive or email it.
  • You cannot copy text or images from the file.
  • You cannot edit the file.

Printing the thesis

  • You can print the thesis for your personal study or research use.
  • Aalto University students and staff members may print black-and-white prints on the PrintingPoint devices when using the computer with personal Aalto username and password. Color printing is possible using the printer u90203-psc3, which is located near the customer service. Color printing is subject to a charge to Aalto University students and staff members.
  • Other customers can use the printer u90203-psc3. All printing is subject to a charge to non-University members.

Abstract (eng): The large Finnish companies' emerging corporate responsibilities offer new kind of collaboration possibilities for organizations.
The main objective of the thesis is to present the different corporate collaboration possibilities for the Finnish development and emergency aid organizations.
This is resolved by first researching the collaboration possibilities from the companies' perspective, and then, considering how development and emergency aid organizations should consider the results of the research.

In the literature review it is investigated why and how companies want to collaborate with development and emergency aid organizations.
The literature findings are enlarged and brought to the Finnish context with an empirical research.
The research is conducted with an inductive grounded theory approach in which the results are formed from 20 company interviews.
The findings of the empirical study are considered from the perspective of development and emergency aid organizations by forming the strategic possibilities in corporate collaboration for UNICEF Finland.

According to the results, the companies' motives to collaborate with development and emergency aid organizations can be divided into altruistic, responsibility and business motives.
Companies' current collaboration methods and their future potential are identified.
In partner selection companies consider the development and emergency aid organization's offering and corporate responsibility or business match in the collaboration as the most important selection factors.
Companies also expect organizations to approach them with mutually benefitting offerings.
The companies' business and societal outcomes of collaboration are identified.

The Finnish development and emergency aid organizations can have partners from all the industry sectors, and, all the identified collaboration methods are possible options for the organizations.
Nevertheless, the company's precise business definition influences on how potential a partner it is for the organization and how potential are the different collaboration methods.
In partner acquiring it is important to have a business or corporate responsibility related offering for the company.
Abstract (fin): Suomalaisten suuryritysten kasvava yritysvastuuajattelu tarjoaa uudenlaisia mahdollisuuksia järjestöille.
Tämän tutkimuksen päätavoite on selvittää yritysyhteistyön eri mahdollisuudet Suomessa toimiville kehitysyhteistyö- ja hätäapujärjestöille.
Tutkimuksen päätavoitteeseen vastataan ensin selvittämällä yritysyhteistyön mahdollisuudet yritysten näkökulmasta ja pohtimalla tämän jälkeen saatuja tuloksia kehitysyhteistyö- ja hätäapujärjestöjen kannalta.

Kirjallisuustutkimuksessa osoitetaan miksi ja miten yritykset haluavat tehdä yhteistyötä kehitysyhteistyö- ja hätäapujärjestöjen kanssa.
Grounded theory -menetelmään pohjautuvalla empiirisellä tutkimuksella laajennetaan kirjallisuustutkimuksen tuloksia sekä asetetaan ne suomalaiseen kontekstiin.
Tutkimus pohjatuu 20:een suuryrityshaastatteluun.
Empiirisen tutkimuksen tuloksia tarkastellaan järjestöjen näkökulmasta muodostamalla yritysyhteistyön strategiset mahdollisuudet Suomen UNICEF:lle.

Tuloksien mukaan suurten suomalaisten yritysten motiivit yhteistyöhön kehitysyhteistyö- ja hätäapujärjestön kanssa voidaan jakaa altruistisiin, vastuullisiin ja liiketoiminnallisiin motiiveihin.
Yritysten tämänhetkiset yhteistyömuodot ja niiden tulevaisuuden potentiaali ovat selvitetty.
Kumppaninvalinnassa yrityksille on tärkeintä järjestön tarjoamat mielenkiintoiset yhteistyömahdollisuudet sekä yritysvastuu- ja liiketoimintasidosteisuus yhteistyössä.
Yritykset odottavatkin molemminpuoleista etua sisältäviä yhteistyöehdotuksia järjestöiltä.
Yhteistyön liiketoiminnalliset ja yhteiskunnalliset tulokset yritysten näkökulmasta ovat myös kuvattu.

Suomessa toimivat kehitysyhteistyö- ja hätäapujärjestöt voivat saada kumppaneita kaikilta toimialoilta, ja kaikki tutkimuksessa esitetyt yhteistyömuodot ovat järjestöille mahdollisia.
Yrityksen liiketoiminnan tarkempi määritys vaikuttaa kuitenkin siihen, kuinka potentiaalinen yritys on kumppaniksi järjestölle, ja kuinka potentiaalisia eri yhteistyömuodot ovat kyseisen yrityksen kohdalla.
Kumppaninhankinnassa on erityisen tärkeää sitoa järjestön tarjoamat yhteistyömahdollisuudet yrityksen liiketoimintaan ja yritysvastuuseen.
