| Abstract (eng): | Industries using pressure equipment typically consist of chemical, petrochemical, oil & gas, wood processing and energy industries. Because the Industry has not their own manufacturing facilities, the pressure vessels utilized in the various processes are purchased from the engineering works specialised in manufacturing of pressure equipment. The quality management system requirements specified in the International Standard gives requirements for control of outsourced process that affects product conformity with requirements. The organization shall evaluate and select suppliers based on their ability to supply product in accordance with the organization´s requirements. The Industry is expecting that the suppliers have reliable quality and other management systems. Certification of management systems is used to demonstrate compliance to standard. What are the risks to your business if you experience problems with the purchased product and how you can be sure that the product you receive will actually meet your requirements? The answer may be that you may choose to audit your supplier yourself. This research describes the basis and depth of evaluation principles and supplier auditing tools in organization´s purchasing process. Empirical part consists of case study research finding out how the engineering works are audited by their customers and how the auditee feels about it. Additionally will be clarified, what management systems are presupposed by the Industry, how the engineering works are evaluating and selecting their own subcontractors or suppliers and what role do the Notified bodies play in conformity assessment. The outcome of this research is the analysis of audits from the engineering works point of view. Based on the results recommendations to develop the purchasing process are given, when auditing the engineering works that manufacture critical process equipment and where closer co-operation between participants is essential. The benefits can for example be associated with shortened delivery times and improvement in the quality of the purchased products. In this research the pressure vessels that are utilized in process industry and when their nature of production is unique single case type, are classified with purchasing portfolio in to strategic purchasing processes. |
| Abstract (fin): | Painelaitteiden loppukäyttäjiä ovat tyypillisesti kemian- ja petrokemianteollisuus, öljynjalostusteollisuus, puunjalostusteollisuus sekä energiateollisuus. Teollisuudella ei ole omaa valmistusta, vaan tuotantoprosesseissa tarvittavat painelaitteet ostetaan ulkopuolisilta toimittajilta, painelaitevalmistukseen erikoistuneilta konepajoilta. Kansainväliset laatujärjestelmästandardit asettavat vaatimuksia ulkoisille prosesseille. Toimittajat tulee arvioida ja valita sen perusteella, kuinka nämä kykenevät toimittamaan organisaation vaatimusten mukaisia tuotteita. Toimittajalta odotetaan toimivia laatu- ja hallintajärjestelmiä. Johtamisjärjestelmien sertifiointia käytetään osoittamaan, että standardin asettamat vaatimukset täyttyvät. Mitkä ovat riskit, jos ostettavassa tuotteessa todetaan olevan ongelmia ja kuinka voidaan varmistua siitä, että ostettu tuote lopulta täyttää asetetut vaatimukset? Vastauksena kysymykseen voi olla, että organisaatio päättää auditoida toimittajaa. Tässä tutkimuksessa kuvataan toimittaja-arvioinnin lähtökohtia ja syvyyttä organisaation kannalta. Empiirinen osa muodostuu tapaustutkimuksesta, jossa selvitetään, miten toimittajien arviointia ja auditointia toteutetaan painelaitteita valmistavissa konepajoissa ja, miten konepaja kokee asiakkaan tekemät auditoinnit. Lisäksi tutkimuksessa selvitetään, mitä johtamisjärjestelmiä teollisuuden asiakkaat konepajoilta edellyttävät ja, mikä on painelaitteiden vaatimustenmukaisuutta valvovien ilmoitettujen laitosten rooli. Tutkimuksen tuloksena syntyy analyysi asiakkaan konepajalla tekemistä auditoinneista konepajan näkökulmasta katsottuna. Tulosten perusteella annetaan suosituksia vaativia painelaitteita valmistavien konepajojen auditoinnin ja toimittajayhteistyön kehittämiseksi. Saatava hyöty voi liittyä esimerkiksi toimitusaikojen lyhenemiseen ja tuotteiden laadun paranemiseen. Tutkimuksessa teollisuuden tuotantoprosesseissa tarvittavien ja yksittäistuotantona valmistettavien painelaitteiden hankinta on luokiteltu ostoportfolion avulla strategisiin ostoihin. |
