Abstract (eng): This thesis describes the design and user evaluation of SGSN configuration user interface from a user entered design point of view.
The practical work started with creating the use cases for the SGSN configuration.
Then, one of the available user interfaces in telecom world was analysed and evaluated with 5 telecom engineers.
After that, the usability goals for this work were defined.
The output of the previous activities was used for the design phase of the new user interface.
The design was based on different usability design principles.
The basic idea of the design is to have the commands stored under a domain for which they logically belong.
The design has different themes such as reducing the memory load of the user, improving the learning experience of the user and speaking the user's language.

The design decisions were then implemented and a prototype was produced.
The implementation was done for the mtp layer of SS7 protocol for the Gr interface.
The prototype was then evaluated by 4 engineers of different background.
The usability survey was based on QUIS (Questionnaire for User Interaction Satisfaction) with modification according to the need of this survey.

The results of the user-study were positive in some aspects such as the structure of the user interface, the learning experience and terminology and user interface information.
On the other hand, the user indicated that the layout and screen still needs improvement.
The findings of users were analysed and solutions were proposed which needs another iteration to check the users' feedback.
