| Abstract: | This report examines the market for industrially prepared foods for domestic pets, with particular emphasis on sales of cat and dog foods. Foods for birds, fish and small mammals are also covered. Animal feeds for agricultural use and foods for domestic animals such as are excluded. Both cats and dogs are increasingly being fed specially formulated and prepared petfoods, and the past two decades have witnessed a pronounced shift away from the feeding of scraps from the family table. |
