Abstract:While businesses in general concentrate on maximizing their material affluence, this article proposes the concept of "time affluence" to be used in organizations to improve the well-being of their employees. Four studies are conducted in order to examine the potential benefits of this concept. The results of the studies indicate that even while still pursuing material affluence, the effects of time affluence on subjective employee well-being are positive. The positive associations between time affluence and well-being are further shown to be mediated by the experience of mindfulness and the satisfaction of psychological needs.
