| Tiivistelmä: | The war of attrition and all-pay auction when players' signals are symmetrically distributed and affiliated, is studied in this paper. Sufficient conditions for the existence of symmetric monotonic equilibrium bidding strategies are found , and the performance of these auction forms in terms of the expected revenue accruing to the seller is examined. The war of attrition raises greater expected revenue than other known sealed-bid forms of auction. |
