| Tiivistelmä: | The article looks at attempts made to implement trade policies btw. Japan and the United States, emphasizing on the automotive industry. The treatment of punitive tariffs are detailed and the role of threats in the trade policies btw. the countries mentioned are dealt with. It is shown that by making threats to a linked market, a market share target may be implemented with fairly week administrative and informational requirements. |
