Tiivistelmä:The paper discusses the role of the Internet as portrayed in recent literature. The second issue is addressed via a comprehensive review and classification of UK retailer Internet activities. A sampling of the UK retail organisations was used, and each Web site individually inspected to categorise the range of marketing functions and services offered.
