Tiivistelmä:This paper considers the question - whether the fifth generation of Sweden's most powerful family can lead shareholders into a new era of growth. Together, companies in which the Wallenbergs have a big stake - including Ericsson, ABB, AstraZeneca, Electrolux, and SAS - represent more than $250 billion in shareholder wealth, greater than the market cap of General Motors and Wal- Mart combined. They employ more than 800,000 people and generate more than $100 billion in revenue, 90% of that outside Sweden. At the center of the Wallenberg web is Investor, an 85-year-old holding company. Marcus Wallenberg runs it; cousin Jackob, uncle Peter, and a cadre of luminaries, including Barnevik and Peter Sutherland, a former WTO director-general, sit on its board.
