Tiivistelmä:In this article the author answers the question how the most successful American care company of the 1990s became the biggest bust of the new millennium. The company made unrealistic projections about the future at the same time it was spending money extravagantly and its famously entrepreneurial culture was operating unchecked. The article considers management attempts to reduce costs and increase the profits. The author also states that there is one unique asset which can help Chrysler regain the edge: Mercedes- Benz technology. New rear-wheel versions of the Chrysler Concord and 300M, due in 2004 and 2005, respectively, will make use of Mercedes electronics, transmissions, seat frames, and other parts.
