Tiivistelmä:The subjects of this paper are electronic commerce, business logistics and transportation. The paper examines the implications of e-commerce for logistics and transport systems. The authors consider changes in transport and logistics brought about by the differentiation between digital goods and services and the transition from mass production to mass customization. The paper also pays an attention to the significance of e-commerce to the demands on the transport system of commercial products. The author states that it is becoming evident that, following the end of internet euphoria of recent years, the spread of e-commerce is now proceeding in more evolutionary fashion.
