| Tiivistelmä: | The article analyses the press reportage of the football game between Germany and England during Euro 2000. The authors argue that nationalism and the homogeneity and unity of the English nation, as covered in the media, were formulated in three main strategies: separation, conflict and typification. The authors conclude that the papers maintain a hegemonic world order of sovereign nation states, who are responsible for the behaviour of their citizens. |
