| Tiivistelmä: | The paper analyses the scope and impact of patent management in German technology-based firms. The explorative empirical study is based on a conceptual framework which relates patent management to firm performance under various contingent factors. Differences between young and more established firms and specific characteristics of biotechnology firms are examined. Further, first insights regarding the impact of patent management on firm performance are gained. The empirical findings lead to implications for improving patent management in technology-based firms. The results are particularly relevant for managers, private and public service providers and investors (original in German). |
